Farm Progress Show

On August 29th, a bus load of students attended the Farm Progress Show in Decatur, IL. The students were able to walk around and talk with industry leaders on the different advances and changes to the agriculture industry! The Armstrong FFA was also sponsored by Burrus Seed to attend the show, thank you to Burrus Seed and all the FFA supporters!

Rantoul Half Century of Farm Progress Show

On August 23rd, 8 Armstrong FFA members worked the Hog Haven food trucks during the Rantoul Half Century of Farm Progress Show.

FFA Livestock Fair

On August 5th, Armstrong FFA members participated in the Section 18 Livestock Fair at the Georgetown Fairgrounds. The exhibitors did very well and walked away with ribbons! Katelyn Luecke showed her horses, Dylan Knight showed his cattle and Makayla showed her cattle and her Llama. Great job to these students!

FFA Summer Activities

The Armstrong FFA has been crazy busy this summer!


They attended Illinois State Convention June 11-13th in Springfield, IL. The students participated in different activities such as sessions, team building activities, and interacting with other members from across the state. At the convention the Armstrong FFA received the Gold recognition for the scrapbook that was done by Makayla Learned, Bronze for their National Chapter Award and Gabi Hudson and Cheyenne Cade were awarded their State Degrees. The students had a blast and got a lot of great ideas for the upcoming school year!


Miss Foran attended another CASE conference June 16-21 at Kansas State University where she learned about a new plant science curriculum she will implement in the Horticulture classes.


Gabi Hudson and Cheyenne Cade attended and had an amazing time at Washington Leadership Conference! The two girls met FFA members from all over the country, took educational tours, participated in a service day, and learned so many wonderful leadership skills! They highly recommend the conference to other students!


Lastly, the Armstrong FFA helped the I & I Tractor Club work the root beer float stand as well as sold tickets for the restored tractor that was done by our students with the help of Kenny Knight.


It has been a great summer so far and we still look forward to the rest of the summer activities as well as the upcoming year!

End of the Year Banquet

On May 7th, the Armstrong FFA hosted their end of the year banquet where the students and community were recognized for their hard work over the year. Students received their Greenhand and Chapter degrees, awards for their placements in career development events and proficiencies, scholarships and our new officers were inducted into their positions. Michael Schluter and Kenny Knight were present to receive their plaque of appreciation from the chapter for all their help over this past year. It was a great night recognizing the hard work of the Armstrong FFA Chapter.

Section 18 Banquet

On April 24th some Armstrong FFA members attended the Section 18 FFA banquet. Our chapter was recognized for their first place finish at the Tractor Safety CDE, Gabi Hudson and Cheyenne Cade were recognized for their approval of receiving their State Degrees in June, and Makayla Learned was recognized for her first place proficiency in the area of Veterinary Science.

Along with those great accomplishments, two of our members were elected onto the Section 18 Officer team!

Cheyenne Cade was elected the 2019-2020 Section 18 Secretary

Makayla Learned was elected as the 2019-2020 Section 18 Sentinel

Congratulations to these girls as well as the Chapter as a whole! It was a very successful year!

District 4 Proficiencies

March 7th @ Sullivan High School

Congrats to Makayla Learned for placing 2nd in the District 4 Proficiency Awards in the Veterinary Science Area! Her interview went great and with a little more experience her record book will go far in the coming years!

ACES Ag Open House

On March 8th, students traveled to the U of I for the ACES Ag Open House. They had a great time learning about all the opportunities the U of I has to offer.

Ag Mechanics CDE

Congrats to Kayden Turner for placing 3rd in the Ag Power section of the Section 18 Ag Mechanics CDE this past Wednesday night! He represented the chapter well!

Ag in the Classroom

The Ag Business Management had another successful Ag in the Classroom lesson at Armstrong Ellis Grade School. They taught the 4th and 5th graders about soil and its importance! The students loved building their own edible soil horizons.
